🍄 Mycelium Synth

A touch-based, bioluminescent musical memory experience created for the Mushroom Game Jam.

Mycelium Synth bridges the physical and digital worlds into an organic synth experience. Built using a Makey Makey, 3D-printed conductive mushroom sculptures, and a custom WebGL companion interface, this project invites players to map, feel, and memorize musical frequencies traveling through fungal networks.

🎮 How to Play

1. Physical Hardware Setup

• Connect your Makey Makey to the 3D-printed mycelium vase and mushroom sensors.
• Ensure player grounding (hold the earth ground clip/wire).
• Physical mushroom contacts act as input triggers corresponding to musical notes (C, D, E, G, A, B). (Keyboard fallback keys: W, A, S, D, F, G).

2. Gameplay Modes

🔴 Competitive Mode (Create & Challenge)

1. Compose Phase: Press Record (10s). Touch different mushrooms in your vase setup to compose a custom melodic pathway.
2. Review Phase: Press Replay to watch the bioluminescent signals pulse across the digital mycelium network and hear your melody back.
3. Challenge Phase: Hand the controls to a friend! They must recall and recreate the exact sequence on the physical mushrooms before the timer runs out.

🌿 Cooperative Mode (Listen & Guess)

1. Generate Phase: Select a difficulty setting (Easy, Medium, or Hard) to generate an organic, hidden spore tune.
2. Listen Phase: Hit Replay to hear the sequence.
3. Guess Phase: Use your ears and physical intuition to recreate the mystery tune note-for-note on the mushrooms.
